The Hyosung GT250R takes the middle path in the quarter litre segment in terms of both performance and pricing, and now with the new Yamaha YZF R25 going to come to India soon, we expect to see some fierce competition. Hyosung had first made its foray into the Indian market back in 2004 with a limited run of the Aquila 250 and the Comet 250, which were both quite popular then due to the lack of competition. Now though, the quarter-litre class has become very competitive with the likes of Kawasaki and Honda fielding their contenders. Hyosung recently updated the GT250R with a new fairing and it now shares the distinct styling of the elder sibling, the GT650R. The GT250R features a chrome-finished exhaust as opposed to the matte black one in the GT650R. It also features a two stage projection beam for better visibility, an aerodynamic body and a digital display and fuel gauge. The GT250R gets a dual lateral bar frame which has been designed to reduce weight and lower the centre of gravity. It is powered by a 250cc 75 degree V-twin engine which produces 28bhp and 22Nm of torque. The oil-cooled DOHC engine gets electronic fuel injection and is mated to a five-speed gearbox with a wet multiplate clutch.
